Moving the Metal Again

Having swept President's Day aside, we are now back in action in the bullion markets. As the Northeast and Midwest get over last week's snowstorm (one that shut the Mint at West Point for most of the week) gold surges over $1100 again as all the precious metals pick up the pace.

Having swept President's Day aside, we are now back in action in the bullion markets. As the Northeast and Midwest get over last week's snowstorm (one that shut the Mint at West Point for most of the week) gold surges over $1100 again as all the precious metals pick up the pace.

Last week’s severe weather caused the US Mint to be closed for most of the week. No Eagles were produced or delivered last week, nor were any coins struck. A number of Brinks deliveries were delayed for weather reasons.

Gold Eagle production continues to keep pace with demand. As for silver Eagles, the Mint is now allocating its small supplies.

Therefore, we have suspended sales of Silver Eagles pending a resumption of sufficient supply. Many of the silver Eagle orders that we placed with distributors weeks ago have been delayed in their delivery. At this point, we are playing “catch-up ball” on confirmed silver Eagles orders, and we will not take any more such orders until supplies are in hand – which may be a few weeks.

Silver Maples, and generic silver rounds, are still in good supply, and we have product in stock and more on its way this week.

The Royal Canadian Mint, in an attempt to increase market share, is making gold Maple Leafs more affordable, and we are now passing on the savings on this popular .9999 pure bullion coin.
