The 2008 Lunar Series Mouse is the first
of Australia’s Perth Mint second
series of Lunar gold bullion coins, this series to span from 2008 through 2019.
These pure (99.99%) gold bullion coins are each encapsulated in individual round
plastic holders for protection.
For the Series II issues, the Perth Mint has limited the quantities of the 1-ounce
coins to 30,000 pieces. For the other size coins in the series, mintages are limited to the
quantity made during year of issue.
The Perth Mint released final production figures for the Mouse coins, which you
can link to here: Perth
mint Bullion Mintages
We have a limited number of the fractional coins in stock, and no more coming
from the Perth Mint as they have halted production on all but the 1-ounce gold coin.

Legend has it that thousands of years ago, on a Chinese New Year, Buddha summoned all the
animals of his kingdom, but only 12 showed up.
To honor the 12, each animal present was given
a year of its own, in the order that they arrived. People subsequently born in those years
are said to share the characteristics of that year's animal.
Each Year of the Mouse gold coin is a beautiful example of what can be done in .9999 fine
gold bullion, as struck to the precise standards of the Perth Mint.
Mintages will be limited, and distribution
of these Lunar Series coins usually ends by November of the series year. As with the other
Lunar animals, only 30,000 of the 1-ounce coins will be struck. Once the production
and distribution is complete, the secondary market takes over and prices may no longer be
simply gold value plus a percentage.
